Athletic Matrix has one mission: to provide athletes with optimal training programs designed to maximize athleticism and produce championship levels of performance. Athletic Matrix is dedicated to the long-term success of all athletes, including potential realization and injury prevention. By maximizing the athleticism of all athletes, sporting level is raised, and experiences in athletics are enhanced.

Athletic Matrix uses a wholly unique and proprietary progression of training. This sequencing of training stimulus is called the Synergy Training System. Athletic Matrix uses the latest scientific research coupled with over 10,000 hours of hands on training to bring you a system that promises to unleash a more powerful, fast, and agile athlete.

Each athlete will be trained the same way athletes are at the most prestigious training facilities worldwide, only in the medium of their choosing: on-line, personalized training, or group training.

Learn from performance experts who are at the cutting edge of the training community. Meet the Directors for Athletic Matrix:

J.R. Haworth
Director of Training

J.R. Haworth has earned national certification as a performance coach with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the foremost certifying agency for Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches. His Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification is only surpassed by the past 15 years of in-the-trenches experience he has gained. In 2003, Coach J.R. surpassed the 10,000-hour mark of hands-on training.

During this period, Coach J.R. has helped athletes achieve All-American, All-State, and All Conference Honors in men and women’s sports at both the collegiate and high school level. While all of these accolades were hard earned and exemplify dreams, they are no more rewarding than watching the young athlete who is struggling to make the starting line-up achieve a new level of performance and earn playing time.

Currently, Coach J.R. trains athletes in the Tampa, Florida area and does consulting with a number of colleges and high schools nationwide. Past experience includes coaching and training at both the collegiate and high school level.

Amy Haworth
Athlete Positioning Director

Amy Haworth’s youth was filled with athletics and dance. After playing volleyball for the University of Central Florida, and earning her law degree, Amy entered the coaching ranks, serving as an Assistant Athletics Director and Women’s Volleyball Coach for American International College. From there, she spent time at the Big South Conference Office, The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the Big East Conference Office.

As a native of Tampa, Amy now works as an Assistant Athletics Director at the University of South Florida overseeing academic support. Amy still serves as a presenter for the NCAA at regional seminars, specializing in academic eligibility and recruiting legislation.

As an expert in the recruiting process and NCAA eligibility, Amy is currently authoring “The Ultimate Recruiting Resource: Marketing Yourself to Colleges.” With experience as a recruited athlete, a coach, an assistant athletics director, a conference assistant commissioner, and an NCAA membership services representative, Amy is the foremost expert on the recruiting process. Yearly she educates hundreds of athletes on the best way to position themselves and ensure eligibility.
